I’m disappointed seeing Alabama at or near the bottom of the list when compared with other States and little if anything being done about it. We are falling behind. We can do better – much better. I am proposing an education lottery for the State to keep money that is flowing out to TN, GA and FL and use it here for our benefit as perhaps to cut some regressive taxes such as the one on groceries. We need to protect the environment and natural beauty of Alabama which is a biodiversity wonder of in the world. We can do that while allowing responsible development. We need to expand Medicaid for the working who have no health insurance and better support our elderly and retired on fixed incomes. I'm supporting early voting and a Citizens Ballot initiative law to provide a direct way to convert public will into power. We need campaign finance reform, prison reform and more affordable childcare and health insurance so that people can work without worry. Finally, I'm running for Alabama House District 2 because I know I can do a much better job of representing the citizens of this district than the person there now who is running for re-election.
